2nd GEO-Academy Workshop for France: Urban Sustainability, GIS and Earth Observation via the Living Labs Approach
The workshop will focus on two of the main driving forces of the GEO-Academy project, first, on Cartography, Map Literacy, and Spatial Skills Development, where we will explore the power of maps in understanding our world and how to enhance our spatial thinking and data visualization skills. Then, we will also dive into the Geographic Information Systems (GIS) for Earth Sciences and we will download, process, and model spatial data to tackle real-world environmental challenges upon challenge-based activities.
Visualize knowledge and empower your students’ learning but, you have to remember…. one layer at a time!
In addition, the participants will be able to hear more about GEO-Academy, GEOBSERVE, and the GEO-Academy’s Unified Competence Framework.
The workshop is organised within the GEO-Academy project, which is an Erasmus+ project, aiming to develop a network offering tailored teacher training and development to incorporate Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Remote Sensing (RS) and Earth Observation (EO) along with Geospatial Storytelling in environmental and Sustainable Development education topics through tools and materials. The project developed the GEOBSERVE platform, hosting trainings and materials, as well as resources and guides to support implementation in the classroom, available free and accessible everywhere.
