Kicking Off the UDENE Project in Ankara

How can Earth Observation data support an efficient and sustainable urban development? From 12th to 14th of February, UDENE consortium met in Ankara, Turkey for the kick-off the new project. Focused on U(rban) D(evelopement) E(xplorations) using N(atural) E(xperiments) the project gathers 9 partners, from 6 countries including Tunisia, Turkey, Serbia, Italy, France, and Slovenia, to build sustainable urban environments and address the challenges posed by increasing urbanisation and the effects of climate change.

Eurisy Shaping Europe’s Future at the 16th European Space Conference

With a stand and animated sessions, Eurisy was on all fronts during the 16th European Space Conference. The two-day event was an opportunity for European space actors to engage in insightful discussions and debate on the future of the European space sector, as this year's sessions and discussions were driven by the theme 'Shape Europe's Future'.

Kicking Off the SpaceSUITE Project in Genoa

Eurisy, together with 27 partners, kicked off the new SpaceSUITE project in Genoa (IT) with partners from Italy, Germany, France, Spain, Belgium, Austria, Netherlands, Portugal, Greece, Slovenia and Estonia from February 1st to 2nd, 2024. The meeting was hosted by the Geographical Information Systems International Group (GISIG).

The largest space event on Earth, UN-declared World Space Week is celebrated October 4-10 annually. It is an international celebration of the contribution of space science and technology to the betterment of the human condition. World Space Week consists of a myriad of space related events held by space agencies, aerospace companies, schools, planetaria, museums, and astronomy clubs in a common timeframe to achieve greater student and public impact through synchronization.

The role of space technology in supporting national decision-makers in disaster management. Highlights from the Satellite-based Services for Disaster Risk Management Workshop in Budapest

To address issues of response in a state of emergency, public authorities, researchers, civil institutions, private companies and other interested stakeholders gathered on 18 July 2023 at the premises of the National University of Public Service of Budapest to discuss opportunities and challenges related to the use of innovative tools in case of disastrous events. The workshop aimed to highlight the potential of satellite applications during different phases of disaster risk management.

On May 17th, the second national workshop Satellite-based Services for Disaster Risk Management was held in Nicosia (Cyprus), co-organised by Eurisy and EUSPA, in cooperation with the Cypriot Department of Electronic Communications, Deputy Ministry of Research, Innovation and Digital Policy.
