Space Opportunities for Climate Challenges: Marine Environment
The Space for Climate initiative offers a one-stop-shop networking platform to find relevant information, news, events, calls, partners and customers for space applications related to climate.
In this monthly webinar series, Eurisy and dotSpace bring together research, government and industry experts to talk about their innovative solutions and funding opportunities. This highly multidisciplinary initiative also provides an open networking and knowledge sharing platform where space & non-space peers can exchange ideas, discover opportunities and meet people to help improve their activities (business, decision-making, legal, research, education, etc.).
Did you miss the first webinar? Here is a recap of the event!
Why attend?
- Learn about the latest innovative ideas from leading research institutions and universities in Europe;
- Scout for funding opportunities and open calls from European and national entities;
- Find partners for joint innovation, collaboration and consortium forming.
Marine Environment
This second webinar on 13 January 2021 will address the topic of Marine Environment. After the Eurisy and DotSpace hosts have covered relevant news and activities, the panel of speakers will represent the different angles of the triple helix model (business, government, research):
- Adriana Maria Constantinescu, PhD Scientific Researcher in Marine Geology at the Romanian Institute for Marine Geology and GeoEcology – GeoEcoMar, will talk about environmental and climate change in the Danube-Black Sea interaction zone;
- Daniela Iasillo, Technical Manager at Planetek, will present their work within the framework of Marine-EO, the first Earth Observation Pre-Commercial Procurement, implementing two different systems to monitor marine hot spots and aquaculture settlements;
- Jonathan Williams CEO at Marine South East – a nonprofit industry association and member of the BlueTech Cluster Alliance – will present the Space2Waves project;
- Linda Van Duivenbode will cover funding and innovation opportunities, e.g. the open call “Sustainable Aquaculture” launched by the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT);
- Finally, we provide the opportunity for 1 minute pitches. The recent Copernicus Masters Overall Winner 2020 Reef Support will deliver such a pitch.
